The challenge

Draper Tools had already used us for their connectivity services since 2013 and approached us to provide a quote for the renewal of their Microsoft 365 licences.

They were also interested in reviewing their anti-virus software, as world events meant their existing virus protection now posed a potential security risk.

However, Draper Tools was using different providers for their Microsoft 365 licensing and anti-virus software and was keen to consolidate their business communications with one provider. That's where we stepped in.

The solution

Draper Tools continues to benefit from seamless access to its familiar Microsoft 365 applications through a flexible, cloud-based environment, enabling staff to work efficiently and collaborate wherever they are.

By bringing connectivity, Microsoft 365 licensing and cybersecurity together under one trusted provider, Draper Tools has simplified the management of its IT services while gaining greater consistency across its technology. With Focus Group’s support team on hand to resolve any issues quickly and efficiently, the business can focus on its operations with the reassurance that expert help is available whenever it’s needed.

The results

We took advantage of a Microsoft licensing price freeze to secure a discounted rate on more than 300 licences, with no subscription fee increases for the first 12 months. The Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3 plan gave staff access to applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook across up to five devices per licence, alongside 1TB of OneDrive storage per user and SharePoint for secure, collaborative working and a customisable company intranet.

To strengthen security, we also implemented Sophos Intercept X Advanced with Managed Detection and Response (MDR) for 319 users. Providing 24/7 network monitoring, advanced threat detection and protection against ransomware and cyberattacks, the solution helps identify and respond to threats quickly, allowing Draper Tools to focus on its day-to-day operations with greater confidence.
